Sold an acoustic guitar today on FB market place. Young man I wont reveal his name came over to buy it. I always check people out before giving away my pickup address and this was no exception. I could clearly make ends meet that this guy is an active duty Army Sniper. So after 30 minutes he arrived. Coming out of the car is this mouth watering dude and you could just tell this was a guy that had his shit together. So, I asked him, "So what do you do in the military?" like the civilian I am, "I'm Just an infantry dude" he said modestly.
I was so impressed with that but I called him out, and asked, "Sniper?". His eyes brightened like I just brought up his most favorite subject, "YEAH" he said. Army Recon. I felt sadness though. I don't talk about it, and I like people to believe I don't know my shit, but I see what is going on out there and I knew I was looking at a man that is most likely going to get the call. I brought my both my girls out to meet him, and I had them also bring out one of my old electric guitars, and gifted it to him. I said, "if you are going where I fear you are going, then you will need something that travels better". Katie asked how to do a proper solute, but I did not know how. He showed her, and he went on his way.
So the vibes id like to send to that young man is simply Happy Veteran's Day!
