Very sad day…..

When I was a teenager my buddy's dad had an old truck like that (not nearly as nice), He would take the rotor out of the distributer to keep us from joyriding. We knew what drawer he hid the rotor in..so we did a lot of joyriding...Getting it back into the exact same parking spot was sometimes problematic. But the rotor was always put back in the drawer.

I learned that trick watching an episode of the Rockford Files, and used to use it on my old Mustang when I parked it in an area where I thought it might get stolen. :D

Unfortunately another set back….the rear mono leaf springs from the S-10 turned out to be stock leafs with the pack reduced to one. Once the Hotrod finally drove, the leafs bound up and pushed the pinion/driveshaft angle downward and created a horrible vibration when in second gear around 25-35 mph. Not drivable again….so more $$ for new quality mono leafs. Waiting for parts…..hopefully this is the last thing. I realize when building custom, combining different new and used parts there’s going to be issues to address…..

It's only money, right? Btw, love the paint. Saw a jeep with it in AZ last week and it looked amazing in the sun.

HEY-HEY! Pretty darn good day today….I cruzed around 50 miles today on side roads in my Hotrod! Lots of thumbs up and had to tell the history of the truck quite a few times. Biggest longest lasting smile on my face for a helluva long time! Felt really good…..still some issues to fix but “on the road again!” Only 48+ years since I drove it….literally driving down memory lane!! When it’s finished, I’ll start a new thread with more pictures, here’s what it looks like today.

great color. My mother was an inveterate lead foot, had a series of fast cars (my fave her 67' 440 Magnum Jensen Interceptor) during her life, the first a 53' Mercury Monterey two door coupe flathead V-8 which I recall as very close to your color. Mom would come up to a stop sign, look around, and leave stripes...lol

One of my old favorite I had in the 60's . 51 Ford with the flathead V8

Although it was the sedan , but yes I still wished I had it ,along with several other old cars that I had in the 60's , especially the 59 Corvette . I could name several but two or three really stand out . Thats not counting the old trucks . :(
Oops…I have trucks on my old brain. Senior moment! 59 Corvette…..dang! One car I wished I never sold was a all stock steel body 30 Model A two door sedan, 327 Chev small block powered.

This was a 64 Dodge Powerwagon 318 4 speed manual , what a tank it would go just about anywhere as far as a four wheel drive truck would go . IMG_2963.jpeg
