Variable density sinking fly lines vs. traditional sinking lines

Things have gotten much more complicated since I needed a new sinking line. It seems the new thing is some kind of density variation. I am looking for a 7wt line to throw bigger bass streamers. The lake I fish is pretty shallow. I am typically anchored in 5-8 feet and casting to the bank. The Rio Clean Sweep (s2/s4/Intermediate tip) seems pretty perfect for this scenario. The SA Parabolic (3/5/3) is another option, but faster sink that I would like.

The other option would be a traditional type 3. Rio has the Fathom. I used to use an Airflo intermediate line that was really nice. My main shops don't carry Airflo anymore so when it needed replacing I went to Rio then most recently an SA. Airflo has the "Sixth Sense 2 Sinking Fly Line" with a longer head which I think I would like. SA doesn't seem to have a constant density lake line anymore just the 3/5/3 or a sink tip like line with a type 3 head and intermediate running line.

I am thinking the Rio Clean Sweep, but the local shops seem to be moving toward SA vs. Rio. Not sure if this is due to it being a better product or for some business reason. Anyone have experience with these? Any others I should consider?

Cortland carries the Fo - Tech lines, which are 30-40 ft. sink heads (type 3, 6 or 8) mated to an intermediate runner line. They’re nice and a bargain, found on their web-site in the “warehouse”. They have some other interesting sinking lines there also..
