You are right..... I should have used a different term to describe how bad some Washington drivers are.....

Good on you! I commute on I-5 from Mill Creek to Seattle. Believe me, I get it!You are right..... I should have used a different term to describe how bad some Washington drivers are.........If you saw the things I do on a daily basis, you would probably have the same sentiments.
Yes, again....poor choice of words on my part.....thank you for calling that to my attention. In all fairness, people with an intellectual disability may obtain a driver's license.
My carpool driver is right on the cusp.

Thanks for the link, that's nice to hear!As Canadian citizen, I can say, from what I've been hearing, Americans are welcome in Canada...especially in areas that cater to tourism...as is the same down south. I would go easy on the "51st state' vibe in conversations...No sense stirring up sensitive issues (and there are lots of them nowadays). Bear in mind: there are still A**holes that vandalize Teslas (prob on both sides), and may have their own issues.
I'm not sure if ok to post a link to another fishing site, but, in this case, I think its important to pass this discussion on FlyBc site re: American tourists coming up. Hopefully, helpful to this discussion (and a comfort to those planning on coming up):

Not sure if this is the right forum… but I thought it would garner the most opinions..over the yrs I have fished interior lakes with a number of Americans. Usually all good if not great fly fishers ( one who supposedly thought of the chromie pattern on the American Pass lk ) easy there retired de...forum.flybc.ca
I was messaging back and forth with a Canadian guy last summer and trading info. He was more than willing to share info and vice versa....it was great. Went fishing on the St Mary last July out of Kimberly...we had a great time.As Canadian citizen, I can say, from what I've been hearing, Americans are welcome in Canada...especially in areas that cater to tourism...as is the same down south. If anything, a good cross-section of actual opinions among CDN fishers. Hopefully, helpful to this discussion (and a comfort to those planning on coming up):

Good luck fishing! Report, please. Keith and I head up April 30th. Very excited for the trip.I'm heading up Tuesday and coming back on Saturday. I figure I deserve a Bearthday present so this is it.
I hope your trip goes smoothly!Heading to BC in two months.
My wife asked since I was born in Venezuela and not a native-born American what should she do when the Canadians refuse to admit me to Canada and the Americans refuse to take me back.
I still have some family left in Venezuela so I guess I better get some phone numbers and addresses just in case.
I would rather fly on a Canadian plane back to Venezuela. CP Air was great decades ago, but I suspect they are gone. No way, do I want to do it on a C-17A.
Like you, I was born to an American citizen abroad. I opened the safe this a.m. and got out my Report of an American Citizen Born Abroad; the way things are headed, nothing would surprise me.Heading to BC in two months.

Nope, I was born to TWO stateless persons, nowhere close to a American citizen.Like you, I was born to an American citizen abroad. I opened the safe this a.m. and got out my Report of an American Citizen Born Abroad; the way things are headed, nothing would surprise me.
Sorry for the repeateded hassles you have at the border and I hope your SS payments are not cut off!Nope, I was born to TWO stateless persons, nowhere close to a American citizen.
Just be happy you have ONE American parent. See adventure below......
When I applied for Social Security my initial claim was denied since the Social Security Administration had me classified as a foreign national. That was in 2012, I became a citizen in 1969.
Initially, Social Security would NOT accept the following to prove I was a American citizen: my naturalization papers, my personal US passport, my OFFICIAL US Government passport for travel on official US Government business, and my Office of Personnel Mangement ID for a Federal retirement pension (you have to be a US citizen to hold a Federal job).
I suspect that with the review of DOGE my Social Security payments will probably be cut off in the near future, simply because I suspect Social Security STILL lists me as a foreign national. After I die they might be updating their database to 1969!!
But, you have to keep a sense of humor about these things.
Just be thankful you were not born in Venezuela. Since 2014 I get stopped leaving the US, entering Canada, and returning to the US. My friends refuse to ride with me if we are crossing the border into Canada thanks to President Obama.
I really don't have an issue with being stopped at the border. I do have an issue, that at the border, they never told me about President Obama's executive order for "special" treatment of Venezuelan's at the border, even if they were American citizens.
I believe my government should just tell me WHY.
