
The trail follows the spine of 5,000 foot high ridge. Hike early to avoid the sun because there's no water.

A welcome glimpse after 4.5 miles and 2,700 feet elevation gain.

The lake's well-fed cutts responded to size 12 golden olive bumbles and claret bumbles fished with an 8' Phillipson Peerless 5 weight bamboo rod and an intermediate line.

Mountain huckleberries are out in the high county...

Action petered out at about 2pm and it was time to stumble back down the trail in 85 degree heat with a stop for an amber ale at the Roslyn Yard on the way home.
