Had my 8' Leonard 66H out today. The replica by Steve Blake, unknown cane source. Been rotating tips, and trying different lines in the past. Today the water was really still too high to fish, so mostly I just did some casting practice and caught a few while scouting changes. Had both tips out and thought, hey one looks a little different. Turns out one tip is just slightly beefier at the ferule, then up a 1/3 still bigger now by several hundredths, 2/3 (1/3 down from tip top on section) bigger by a couple, then at the tip the same or bigger by .001". Really I'd need a better day to tell any difference. Only ran one line, and similar fly setups. Don't know if this was intentional or not, wet tip, dry tip? I guess I'll just have to fish it a bunch and see.
