I don’t think it is a huge deal. At least not in my world.
Someone else will come out with a new platform or find a new platform that will allow whoever wants to scream to do so.

Again, look who is freaking out about this and ask yourself why.
WW beat me to it. I was going to say, "OK, I'll bite. Who the hell is freaking out? And why? Since I'm not on twitter, I, along with all the other non-twitterers in the world, remain blissfully unaware of any freaking out, so we sure as hell don't care why anyone is freaking out."

I've seen more hoopla about a knitting convention.

Exactly who is freaking out? Other than you. I seem to have missed all the freaked outedness.
I don’t give a sheet about Twitter. I may be a social butterfly but I am not attracted to it. If people are, so be it. If someone of astronomical wealth wants to own the influence market does that sale effect my personal freedoms? When it does I might just care.

IMHO social media is responsible for the biggest growth of ignorance and bitterness in history.

I agree and have a theory. You see all these morons are out there thinking their moron thoughts. They encounter other morons and they agree and think each other are cool. They then encounter the normal people and all those above an eighty IQ. These people inform them they are morons and they go back into hiding.

Enter social media. Now these morons have groups and a megaphone. They congeal with other morons into a moron force of epic proportions. They now think they are normal as there are all these people in their group that agree. In fact at my last survey well over half of social media users active on more than two platforms were certifiable high grade morons. And eighty percent were early twenties or younger. Of this population the moron quotient is very high. The righteous axis of the graph and the moron axis are so high we couldn't even plot it graphically. Nobody has seen anything like it.

Basically if you're thirty five and up you have no excuse to be a moron. If you're not, keep working on it.

Bloomberg cares. Washington post cares. Time cares. CNBC cares. MSNBC cares. Various news outlets have been non stop reporting about the bad space man taking their platform and echo chamber away so to say nobody cares is not the case.

It's big news, lots of 'build your own social media then...' bantered about, but until now and institution hasn't actually been taken back. The blue checkmarks of twitter are the MSM. The MSM can ignore parlor or Gab or 4chan or whatever helps their narrative but what happens when the rug gets pulled out from under their world.
