Not my fight, but not the way I read it. I read it as posting public/open source flight data equals not harassment/doxxing (ie, not that doxxing isn't harassment).

I think you missed his point. My understanding is that doxxing means revealing the real name/address/personally identifying documents of someone using an online handle or secret identity. So someone trying to figure out @swimmy's real name and posting it (or his W-2) here worried be doxxing him. But the kid tracking Musk's private jet is more like paparazzi.

Musk is a public figure with a openly known job and career, can't really doxx, more of a security issue with people getting your home address to do harm.
I'm always concerned about doxxing, someone could ruin mine and my family's life pretty easily. There was a coffeeshop recently that posted an anti mask message on their door and they got Google review/yelp bombed, publicly harassed, protested and boycotted. Always have to be very careful what you say.

I'm just glad I don't have to doxx myself to find out who the fuck I am...at least not yet. Some one might want to do up a dossier on @Old Man tho cause he's old as shit and might need it real soon
 
 
I do not have an account on any of the social media platforms. I use Twitter for only one person, especially in early C-19 times, and read Trevor Bedford tweets. He is one of the top scientists in the nation studying viruses. Plus he works locally @ Fred Hutch.

Restaurants and bars are using FB a lot more. A couple of local places post there when they close abruptly due to staff shortages or due to C-19. I always check to see if they are open just before I head out and so that I will not get surprised when I pull up to those establishments.

Other than that no social media platforms except for here. Have yet to find a reason to have them plus I do not want companies making money off of my information...

I like what i have learned to do on Facebook. Connected with people I lost track of. Painting page and art page, sharing what I create with people far and wide. I have a humor page that others I accept can share theirs as well, called the Mute Cricket Society. I am engaged on a couple of regional gardening pages where I can share my accrued knowledge and learn a thing or two along the way with shared links. Perspective… i know some of the reasons why others hate it as well as know what I like about it.
