Yeah we can agree to disagree. Twitter is the worst.

If you don't already understand why someone who shares my perspective sees twitter as rotten, you never will.

Arguing about it is a waste of energy.

It's always amazing to me that you make theses sorts of statements but never seem to back them up with actual explanations or real ideas. Makes me think you're not capable; I would hope you are, maybe just lazy (which you did admit to in another thread), but then why make the statement. I would just be real interested to know why and on what basis it's the worst - Like I said, I have no dog in this fight, Maybe it is the worst, maybe not, I have no idea, but you seem to, so why won't you explain? Maybe you'll win me over.

The main thing with all these social media platforms is that they are valued by number of users but fake users aka bots are a big portion of their users. These social media companies do not want to actually purge bots because it would make their bottom like look bad and it would hurt their stock. So they are actually incentivized to let bots and their bull shit run amok. Twitter is pretty bad with this from what I have read but it’s not like I pay attention.

I read an article about a disgruntled social media user (I can’t remember the platform) that came forward to share that a purge of bots dropped his followers from 40,000 something to 9 and that he realized he had been having text conversations with bots for 6 years and totally wasting his time! Shockingly most people I have shared this story with feel sad for this person as if they themselves would have known they were bots and it was all fake but I think they are just naive. I think people who are going to the internet to find “friends” or attract followers are getting hoodwinked in a lot of cases and are also getting manipulated by bots as well. This is the epitome of the elephant in the room type situation.

This is also why Elon was wanting some honest metrics on bots from Twitter but they would not give it to him in these dealings. Either way Elon ran a smooth operation and it was a win-win for him.

And Cody, good call! This is worth a brag. Elon is one step ahead and definitely taking advantage. It’s not fair.

Just spent 6 days on the coast. And my
Phone bunked out day 2 (and I didn’t realize it) Loved it.
Walking the beach early in the am with the dogs. Just a do whatever I want to do thing after 10 am. (I ran the dogs hard for three hours each am on the beach … they were spent ). Opened a beer at 1130am one day. Read/crosswords. Some hiking… we did not watch one iota of tv. Learned a new card game called 13. Played some cribbage. Got home and my phone rebooted. Had something like 60 texts/15 missed calls and 6 messages. Loved it. No fishing . Was hoping too but just didn’t work out. All good.

Really. Do you need Twitter? And others?

I think it's hilarious that people on Twitter think their tweets are going to change the world. It obviously has some influence, but the more you're on there the more you realize it's just the far left and far right yelling at each other and all others don't matter. And there's more dipshits than you ever thought possible.

I avoid politics on there and use it mostly to get basketball (Go Zags!), football and baseball news and highlights.

It is good for breaking news, but even something horrendous and meaningful is gone within 4 or 5 hours if some rapper dude drops a song or, just as likely, dies. Or...someone like Musk decides to soak us with bots.

Do your own research if you are genuinely interested. Plenty of conservatives have written about twitter and other social media giants.

I will say the fact that you don't already know about the issues many have with big tech is crazy. Not to be an ass but it tells me a lot about your "news" sources. Maybe broaden the spectrum a bit.

You telling me to broaden my sources is a bit rich; you have no idea of my news gathering or information sources, just which social media is worse than the others is not something I spend a great deal of time worrying about since I don't use it; just wanted to know how you reach your conclusion. The fact that you start something but are incapable/unwilling to back it up, then blame the mods for your inabilities, speaks volumes.
