Many of us have been watching more television with a close eye on the global news. Lately, I more consciously have been getting frustrated with the percentage of time spent on, and the rapid fire nature of TV commercials. I have even noticed that some sponsors 'program you' with 30 second commercials to the point where you fill-in the blanks when they air a 10 second abbreviated version. It makes one wonder if we will someday reach an "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!" point in time. Someone out there is likely monitoring for this.
I did a Google search and found that in general we broke the 25% of air time is commercials in 2014. We have now just entered a time where commercials take 33% of air time. And, they have found a way to make it even more irritating by making many of them shorter, and blasting them in volume at you thru a firehose.
I guess this rant could be somewhat fishing related, as I am able to use PNWFF during the onslaught of commercials to my advantage.
But... When do you think the rule of diminishing returns will finally kick-in? Think a TV audience will ever accept 50% commercials?
