Tuna Time

It's that time of the year when rumors of sport caught albacore start to catch fire. There's a report of one caught off Hammond a few days ago with little other information. I can confirm that four were caught 68 nm out of Brookings (42.40/125.40) yesterday. That's a long way out but with the southerlies associated with this troughy weather pattern, the water can move in quickly. Let the games begin...

Yep I'm getting my affairs in order. Mid July is when I've had my best days. Hoping the ocean calms itself. I don't expect there are large numbers in sport boat range yet but there will be soon.

But yeah... Temp is there, which is rarely the issue. The chloro breaks got pushed out after that last relentless north wind.

Chloro shot: Lookin about 60ish miles to get to some decent water. Not that they wouldn't be in that green, but they're rarely in there in abundance.

Evan, the SST/chloro site you've created is top notch! I used to have to pay for basically the same information.
Yeah I'm very happy with it. Took a loooong time to dial in, but it's about right now in time for the season. I know it's not a tool that most of the PNWFF demographic will need or use, but I'm juts working on expanding our ecosystem here. Contributions have started coming in from users who discovered us via some of the apps, so all going according to plan!

I’m getting stoked for tuna season again. Just hoping for calmer seas on my day than the last few trips.
