SFR Truck "short box" issue??

Seriously considering pulling the trigger on an EV Pick-up. As mentioned in other posts, only short boxes seem to be available. This may pose a problem as I have my 12ft Smoker Craft mounted on a Yakima boat rack that already extends over the front seat area of a crew cab pick-up with a "long" box!!!!

I am concerned that the boat would extend even further and take on "wind uplift" with more boat not clamped down.

Anyone else have a boat on top of a short bed or can offer some wisdom on this dilemma?

I've done my 12 foot nucanoe frontier with a hitch extender and tail gate down in my Jeep Gladiator no problem.

Also inb4 an Ive rant on short bed trucks

Does the canoe add drag to shorten the EV range? I'd be more worried about that.

With a truck, it's bigger the better. It's big wheels go farther!!!! I only recommend extremely large trucks for this reason. These days you're seeing bigger and bigger trucks!!! Ford, Chevy, Toyota, GENERAL MOTERS CLUB!!!!

Therefore I'd recommend going long bed.

I carried a 12’ alumacraft in the bed of my short box f150 for years. Needed to tie it in fom the bow, and tie the stern down inside the bed, and then it was no problem. Snug it down on tour rack and yiu should be fine.
