Tough week

Hit the Hoh 5 days ago but running 12700. Wasn’t really good until two days later and still a tad high. Saturday river looking good but everyone and their cousins there. Remember with the wash out the river fishing area has shrunk. We were in the 40 plus boat count besides all the hike in bar fisherman. River has changed quite a bit from last year and will continue to change with these conditions.

Hoh in peak season is a goat ropein mess, especially on the 4 days around the weekends. Sure is a beautiful piece of water thou when it drops in.

We were out there this weekend as well. I think we saw under 10 other boats during our day, but we did bunny hop quite a bit with a few of them. We talked to one boat who saw a different boat hook a fish, not one other person we saw or talked to had seen any action. Conditions were PRIME. We felt lucky to get two to hand (not fly fishing). I think hooking 4 definitely puts you in elite status. Pretty tough fishing for great water right after a big event in early March.

We took a raft WAY up on a river that closed the end of Feb Friday and went 2/3 without seeing another boat all day. Guaranteed we had first water all day. Conditions were just phenomenal but the fish weren't in like I thought they'd be.
