Too Hot For Trout

I'm heading for Helena in a couple days and the high temps in the high 80's low 90's is not what I had in mind.
I was planning to fish a couple days in ID as we travel through and a couple days on one of my favorite little blue lines before getting to Helena.
Something to think about.

There's actually a lot of supporting documentation for that claim. It's pretty easy to see here on the east side of the state, where it's impossible to get wildfire insurance in certain locations - and it's far more expensive when you can get it. Here's an article that details the costs more clearly than the short video on the link you provided.

My home owners insurance just about doubled after we had a big wildfire and had to evacuate and the next year another big wildfire.
The previous fire kept the last fire out of town.
I live in Western OR, but the summers these days have little to no rain for two months
My mortgage payment only 20% of the total house payment.

If I had the coin I'd spend summers in SE Alaska, and the rest of the year here in EWA.

Guess I'd be a 'reverse Snowbird'. Many of my fellow retired neighbors head south for winter so they can golf and escape from snow.

Myself....I absolutely detest golf, and am just as excited about each snowfall as I was as a youngster....and it's even better as a retiree (school's out forever!!) with good winter vehicles.

Summers in Spokane have become unpleasantly hot with many 100+ F days, and even the higher elevation lakes too warm for responsible trout C&R fishing for at least two months mid-summer.

Hikes and mountainbiking aren't much fun at those temps either.

An internet search reveals another name for 'reverse snowbird' ....'sweatbird'. 😓
