Tom Morgan Bamboo Rod and Bozeman SC223 Reel.
Ordered in 2015, and picked up in 2016, from Tom and Gerri's Shop in Manhattan, Montana.
Had a chance to chat with them over the phone and email about what type of rod I was looking for, the type of fishing I usually did, and how one of their rods might fit in to my goals of having a nice bamboo rod. It was a great experience, and touring their shop and talking to them in person, then dry casting a few of their other rods was special.
This is what I ordered:
3wt 7 foot 3 inch Bamboo 2 Piece Rod, with a Half Wells Handle Shape, Uplock Reel Seat, and Bright Fitting Style. Comes with a spare tip section.
Bozeman Reel SC 223, 2 3/4 inch reel, that Tom recommended as a good compliment for this rod. He liked their style and their craftsmanship.
The rod itself was $3975, and the Reel was an additional $600. It comes in a beautiful custom rod tube and sock, styled to match the segmented bamboo rod.
Both have been fished exactly once, which is a tragedy, but I always felt like it was too special to fish, and grabbed my other rods instead. I hope this will find its way in to the hands of someone who will use and enjoy it. It's beautiful, useful, work of art. Thanks for your interest, and happy to answer any questions you might have.
I am also getting rid of my other fishing gear, including stuff from Tacky, Umpqua, and some flies, some long sleeve shirts from Orvis and Simms. Happy to send pictures, provide details, and chat about any of the pieces.
I have had a few people ask about a lower price, and I am willing to sell everything for $2000.
