Toilet?

Replicant

Life of the Party
Yep, I said it. Did a search and haven't seen anything on this topic. Lately, I've been doing some solo camping in my truck, and it surprisingly works well. However, I do have some way out there hunts planned on private land this fall that don't have facilities. Thinking about getting a cheap bucket toilet with the ziploc gel system. Wondering if anyone has any better suggestions.

Admittedly, it's not cheap, but the dry bathroom is great!
I highly recommend a product called "Valterra Pure Power Blue Waste Digester and Odor Eliminator" for use in RV toilets to biodegrade the excrement and control odor. I'm reasonably certain it would work equally well in a bucket toilet.

I may have a nice solution for you...free. I have a collapsible toilet with three folding legs, gel bags etc...I basically got it (along with an enclosure) for my wife...she no longer accompanies me on camping trips that do not have toilets on site...

I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow morning; when I get back, I'll round it up and take some pics for you...

I have this one. It's pricey (now! It wasn't way back when) for a bucket, but the gasketed screw-on lid does a good job of sealing in odors if you have to transport the used wag bag (gel powder type) back to civilization inside your vehicle (I camp in a minivan.) I keep a couple spare wag bags in the bottom, put a heavy-duty garbage bag inside as a liner, wag bag inside that. Ziploc the used wag, twist- seal and twist-tie the trashbag, throw TP roll & flushable wipes on top, tuck the foam seat inside, twist seal the bucket. All contained, and pretty dang odor-tight. I find snap-on lids that are tight enough to seal can be a real pain to take off, especially with hands frozen from cold weather fishing. The design of this one makes it easy to seal/remove. The foam seat is comfy, and the bucket is extra sturdy.
I think you can just buy a gamma-seal lid on Amzn for like $20 if you have a bucket and don't care about the seat fitting inside for storage.

Nice rig, my cousin has the same model. But yeah, pricey. Pro tip on the Valterra product. Thanks, I'll look into it.
