Today so far

Presently dog sitting 3 dogs, one 11 and one 10 years old, and one 15 months. All female, all labs. We all get out for a walk of 1-2 miles after they eat - dawn. Then I eat, and time to explore with the young one.F7A4329E-9F28-4D2E-8D05-DEE7E86AC252.jpeg

I was gifted this little Black Diamond by Dave Westburg

And today I fished it, starting here

Where I hooked but lost 2 fish in the 18-20” range. Both came of with the leader in the guides, so I got 95% of what I am after. Both were classic persistent pulls late in the swing.

A couple more pulls, and I lost 1 more heavy fish I never saw.
All the confident eats were so satisfying

Great report. Glad you were able to put a Harry Lemire Black Diamond to work. Plenty more where that came from.

I also like the look of Lemire's Lisa Bell (red and teal fly on top) and Squirrel and Teal (grey fly in middle).

And then there's Lemire's old reliable Steelhead Sculpin.

One more thank you Dave, I have enjoyed fishing this fly, and I learned a thing or two.
