May he rest in peace.

Enjoyed fishing with Tim and learning about Constable rods from him. Here's a pic from a bamboo trip to Rainy lake off the North Cascades highway. From left: myself, Greg Armstrong, Tim Cottage.

Less than a month ago I posted about a new FE Thomas rod that I'd acquired and Tim wrote this.

Life is a gift. Don't take it for granted. Am bringing my 6'9" constable and 8' FE Thomas to the Bamboo Fling in honor of Tim.

That was a great day and I am fortunate to have been able to get to know Tim a little better. He was a good man and I’m grateful for the experience we shared together.

Never met Tim personally but I’ve enjoyed his posts here for years. Condolences to his family and his buddies here. RIP good man.

Thanks for posting this Mike, I meet Tim at the bamboo fling and he had an influence on my rod building. He came by my shop and he picked up some boo and he gave me some pointers on bamboo selection. I also didn’t know that he was part of the Atlantic Tyers guild. We talked tying Atlantic salmon flies and wish I could got to know him better. We should have a toast at the bamboo fling in his memory.

Rest in peace Tim! I'm glad I got to meet you at a few bamboo flings. Condolences to his family and friends! Peace and tight lines!

A toast is a great idea dennis. I’ll bring something suitable and some shot glasses. What did tim like to drink?

I'm deeply saddened to hear this. Tim will be missed. I will share a couple photos I had the chance to take when Tim kindly brought some of his gear over a couple years ago to shoot.

I'm coming in to this thread a bit late. This is pretty shocking news. I have some very fond memories of fishing with Tim in the tree farm, camping and fishing with him at Kelly Creek, or attending the bamboo rod conventions at the Metolius River. He was always a quick witted guy with a grin and a sense of humor, and always happy to share his knowledge. RIP.

Shocking. Sure caught me off guard. What a talent to lose. I met Tim in the 80s when he was into steelhead fishing. He was a talented rod maker, and anything else he set his hands to, for that matter. Wow, such a loss. RIP Tim!
