Tilton river thoughts

You should be able to paddle board up from the state park. A friend and I motored up a few years ago to take a look. Very scenic canyon. The other folks are right about the fishing. It used to be better when they stocked the river up by Morton. There’s some state park owned land with a one mile trail right at mp 28 that takes you to what used to be the best steelhead hole on the river before the dams got put in. Just downstream from that is a commercial hatchery that used to raise some sort of char as I recall. The hatchery is a number of ponds on the other side of the river. Very little fishing pressure on that river and not a lot of fish.
