This summer is very different for some reason

I have lived on the same lake for 26 years. I can normally almost set the calendar by what is happening wildlife-wise.

This summer is very different for some reason.

There are 4 mated geese. This year NO goslings at all.

Normally a flock of 45+ geese are around. This year only 8 geese.

I know of at least 2 robin nests near the house. They had babies for sure. I have not seen a robin for a couple of weeks.

I always look forward to the swallows. They let me know it is time to fish. I have only seen swallows on 2 days in the last month.

Always lots of fawns in the spring time. This year is no different.

Lots of damsel flies. This year I am lucky if I see 1 dragon fly per day. Definitely not normal.

Is it normal in your area?

Go north young man...the climate is changing, and soon 45⁰ and rainy will be but a distant memory of times gone by...kinda like Coho seasons on Puget Sound.
😉

Odd summer for me. Leavin' my usual haunts alone because of water conditions. Tried to go to wallula, fire. Tried the snake/tuc twice last week but so much smoke on the rim I turned around.
Been OK with it though because I've been getting to spend a lot of time with the grandkids, practically constant sleepovers. Seeing the kids alot. Enjoying our Sweets tickets, never done so much ball.
Different summer for sure.

It just got weirder the last couple of days.

There are no birds at all. No sparrows, eagles, herons, juncos, a not even any hummingbirds. In addition there are no bullfrogs sounds at all. The deer always show up at dusk. Not tonight.

Just no sounds at all.

HUH?

Twilight Zone time?

Is it smoky? Our experience has been when it gets smoky, everything hunkers down.

More scrub jays every year. Noisy bastards. Never had them growing up in this same hood. Robins are gone. My veg. garden is at least 2 weeks earlier than normal.
