Rod Building Thinning Epoxy Finish

How do you go about thinning rod finish epoxy? I would like to be able to apply a thinner first coat if possible without it clouding up.. Thanks..

I've read about people using iso alcohol. I would do a test run to find the right amount.

Thin first coat trim your brush at an angle and use less finish heat with an alcohol lamp to flatten.

Use denatured alcohol, not rubbing. Too much will make the finish not harden properly and turn rubbery.

A drop or two of acetone thins it nicely. I have done that to the first epoxy application for transparent wrap.
