These things are on sale right now for $399 on Amazon and a $50 coupon is also available. Sounds good, right? I bought one back in mid July to have for fall camping and paid $645 for it then. Then in September on a 14 day trip to Glacier, Yellowstone, the Tetons the DC output failed on the 4th day and wouldn't power the refrigerator it was bought for. On October 4 I started the process to get a refund or replacement.
I am not going to type for the next hour to detail the horror story that has unfolded since then but would strongly suggest that you go on Amazon and read the 1 star reviews for these things. They are not exaggerations or fabrications, I have experienced many of the same indignities that have been written about. They refused to refund my money but insisted that a replacement was the only option. Now it is almost December and the replacement has not arrived yet but when it does Jackery says it won't power my refrigerator anyway. The refrigerator company agrees stating that the new Jackerys are more sensitive to startup voltage and as a result I get an E1 message whenever I plug in the fridge. That's just dandy-the first one wouldn't work and they don't expect the next one to work either but wouldn't refund.
Jackery was once a great product, my first Explorer 1000 is working perfectly after 4 years and powers my fridge without drama. But the new ones have issues and from what I have experienced customer service has suffered a complete meltdown. It is infuriating to know that they are deliberately stalling and making us jump through multiple hoops in an effort to discourage us.
