The Trout Spey

My new home river is the Kootenai a tailwater fishery with native red bands, cutthroat & bull trout here in NW Montana.

The minimum flow the dam allows is 1400 cfs, so it's got some size to it. I've earmarked some nice bars I'd like to swing with the trout spey.

That sounds like ideal spey water.

I'm a big fan of spey fishing. Get a little 2wt for soft hackles and save the 3 or 4 wt for throwing heavier stuff.
