The Stonedfish/Bambooflyguy monthly lake dry fly challenge!

Stacy you might be onto something with the camera thing.
It occurred to me with the winter solstice so near it might be impacting lunar bi-lingual twisted hyperspecial magnetic spheres which directly impacts the camera refractive index making RIO 5x tippet look like wire rope.
Earlier this evening Steve was way more direct. Something like I was full of :poop: :poop::poop: on the tippet diameter.

Well most likely the last lake emerger fishing for me this year. The most calm beautiful day on the lake! Quite a few fish sipping…..just not on my fly. Good winter midge hatch. I put it in the kitchen so many times with nada. I missed one while filling my shot glass….miseed two more on soft hackles…but finally C&R’d one sight casting a small blackish leech to beat the 🦨. Very peaceful day to relax and shut my overloaded brain off.

Fishing these days come in spurts. And some spurt are heavier than others. I use to run up to the sky a lot before but it has become a sucky fishery besides some odd encounters with odd people living river side. I use to work what they call a hoot shift get off between 6-8am and run up to the Sky after for a couple hours. Those days are gone. Not sure how it has been after covid… but before from time to time I would run in to campers per se …. Not suppose to be camping here. (That kinda thing).

BC … AC. Funny. Many refer to before covid and after covid. 😉 Timeline recreated ???

Great job Steve.
I only fished lakes three times this year, so my challenge effort was a bit weak. 😂

Steve WOW, I tried aggressively to compete with you this year and did better than last year.
You are definitely a force. I tip my hat to you.
Not to concede the victory you already knew was yours but graciously thank you for your willingness to help me improve on every possible aspect of fly fishing. Everything about my fly fishing skills has improved significantly thanks to you. Fly casting (I know your saying BS), Fly tying, Bamboo rod restoration, Bad ass old reels and even my boats. Your mind is always focused on improvement and sharing your insights. I look forward to many, many more days of fishing with you.

BST…..Tom, your genuine desire to take in new ideas to the great sport of fly fishing is inspiring and welcomed!! We’ve known each other and fished from 30+ years ago…..we can’t reinvent the wheel but thinking outta the box sure has been fun!! We’ll really work on your splash cast this year…unless you really like scaring the fish around you……your choice.
Now I’m going to need a bigger frickin hat with your post. I’m just happy to share anything I’ve learned in the 60 years fly fishing/tying to anyone who wants to learn. And come on…many more days? I counting on many more years! What’s next???
