The good boat deal thread

gonads :) ...or maybe reinforcing structure. Old gent I see on Paulina Lake has this boat, same bumps..be easy to grind them out, 'platform' the raised area with finished ply all the way to the shear of the bow.

Looks like a heck of a deal from someone in my local club:

I need to get this sold as I am moving in 10 days. Offering now without the trailer for $500 on a very short timeline and only on condition it is picked up by 5/30. This is a great opportunity to get a custom built pram for a deep discount. Will still sell with trailer but add $200.

Custom 8 ft. fiberglass pram. Seats 2 and includes new 6 ft. Aluminum 2 piece oars, Scotty anchor system w/8 lb. Mushroom anchor, Scotty fly rod holder. Current configuration is for 1 person with removable padded seat on swivel but can be converted to bench seating which can accommodate plus 2!

Trailer includes halogen waterproof lighting, good tires, and rack for transport of pontoon on upper level. Trailer has been well maintained with bearings packed yearly. 4 files

I've almost posted that listing a few times. If only I needed yet another human-powered vessel in the 8' - 10' range. Although since I'm in the planning stages of modifying a Harbor Freight trailer to fit my boat(s), this ready-made trailer seems like it's almost worth it!

That's a sailing dinghy!
Yes. I almost bought one before finding my pram. Two very accomplished fishermen, (names saved to protect the innocent) use these down in Oly. They fit in the back of a small truck. Lightweight and tough. These guys are stout, but do great in these boats. On even uses a trolling motor.

Kind of reminds me of the time we were prepping for our annual trip back home to Montana. As my former bride was organizing the travel trailer, I was trying to fit both of the the Kids' ATVs in the truck bed. My final attempt was to drain both fuel tanks. Then I loaded quad 1 into the truck with the front tires propped at an angle against the metal guard that shielded the truck rear window. I then loaded the 2nd ATV also propped-up at an angle, placing the front wheels atop & straddling the seat of the the first ATV. As I tried to figure out how to adequately secure both machines for the long drive, my neighbor came over to see what I was doing. After evaluating the situation, Mike said: "You realize if you haul them like that, you're gonna end-up with a bunch of little 80cc ATVs . . . "

I unloaded 1 and told the Kids "You'll have to share & ride double."
