We probably all know the bowline. But many of us may not know the efforts given, to tie this knot quickly. Like in less than 1 second. The scoundrels of Catalina Island had this down to an art form, much like a guy in NYC playing three card monty. A quick google search showed me some you tubes of the "flying bowline" these are what I am talking about.... But the locals at Avalon would have put them to shame. It's actually damn easy to master, if you use a nice nylon line. Sitting around the campfire, break out the "flying bowline" knot.....instant fun for all ages.
