The Best Nature Fix

Our daughter was finally able to take a day off from her busy schedule to spend a day on the river with us. I gave her a few tips as she’s still relatively new to this, and I let her fish through the runs first. I actually didn’t fish much myself as it was just enjoyable to watch her learn and progress on her own after having her tell me kindly and in so many words, that I was giving her too much info and to shut the h…. up! 😄

So I sat on a nice moss covered boulder alongside my non-fishing wife and just absorbed it all.. the fresh air, the sounds of the river, the Mergansers in the pool downstream and the shriek of our daughter as a colored up jewel of a little rainbow attacked her fly. She was catching them on her own, and she didn’t want to leave. It was a really good day.

Thank you so much for sharing this very beautiful report!
I will now close off my internet session, because this report leaves me with such good feelings, and I don’t want to spoil those from reading all the bad news these days. My day is starting very well now.

By the way, I note your daughter’s wisdom at turning her reel up, to protect it from the rocks, as she crouches to hold her lovely trout.

Family gold right there!

This post warms my heart. Makes it go 'pitter patter'.

Memories were definitely made for a life-time.

I am glad you and your wife 'just' sat by watching ---> taking it all in! It was her day and you allowed her to make the most of it...
