The 2025 NFL Season Discussion

Just read an interesting note about Rivers today...

Yes, we all probably know by now that he's reset his HOF clock an additional 5 years by coming back just months before he'd have been eligible in the 2026 class.

But did you know that he ALSO reset his health care benefits? NFL players, and their spouse/children, get 5 years of post retirement health insurance (with dental!) once they are in the league for 3 years. Rivers' coverage would have run out in summer 2026. But now he and his family will be covered until 2031, assuming he re-retires at the end of this season.

Meaningless to a man who has made over $200M over his career? Perhaps. But we all know how fast health insurance costs are rising, so five free years of coverage for his family isn't nothing.

And don't forget....

Philip Rivers and his wife HAVE TEN CHILDREN.

(I think this might be a photo before the 10th was born, best I could do)

The Kirk Cousins of employer paid health insurance !!!

Just remember when you buy your $200-1,000 ticket, $50 parking, $10 hot dogs, $20 beers that you are paying for this.

Anybody attending games these days is either very wealthy or financially irresponsible. Now more and more games are moving to streaming services to pay for billionaire space ship rides....

I'll be going Thursday. $150 tickets (using my brother's season tickets). Taking the Amtrak (round trip cheaper than parking. Plus gas in my truck round trip from PDX to SEA), and using CC points for my hotel. I go to a few games a year and still have never purchased any stadium concessions.

It is totally possible to do relatively inexpensively. Though access to season tickets certainly helps.

@Evan B keep an eye out due to high winds ---> 30mph with gusts to 50mph starting around 4pm tonight could impact travel...

Have fun at the game. Should be a lot of fun!

(but I'll be keeping an eye on what the trains are doing since trees blow down and stuff)

GO RAMS!

Do not Go Lambs....
This is an obvious choice here
Only a dolt would root for a team with an mascot you make sweaters and socks out of.

The Official NFLFranchise of PNWFlyfishing.com™️
Your Seattle Seahawks

This is the proper and appropriate team to be be rooting for. Other teams are inferior, and should not be cheered on.

:)

Hope this helps, I am here to clarify and guide NFL team fandom for those who lack the ability to do so on their own.
😁

If you go to his house, do NOT drink the water!

Game dog & beer is a prerequisite...
