oh, our season is toast, just part of the cycle of teams flaring and then subsiding.
Still remember the pre-Walsh years when we hoped for a .500 season as a win.
Could not have enjoyed the Walsh/Montana years more, wife during that period was the practice nurse for the Niners team surgeons and got all the scoop, my friend had box seats and we had a blast at games.
At this age, however, the days of oscillating between joy and anguish (hint, hint) are long behind.
So just harmless banter, actually wish no one injured, and looking forward to the game this weekend.
And now off to Fall River and the BWO hatch which has been starting early this week.

Agree! Cheers my friend. Rams and 9ers have been a rivalry since the 1950s. Bill Walsh has a remarkable coaching history, I wish the Rams hired him when they had the opportunity in the 70s.

I wish the Niners had listened to him when Walsh told them to draft Rodgers instead of Smith...lol
good luck to your team...Stafford is a stud and McVay is a bright light in coaching
 
Might be time for Russ to hang up the cleats after this season.
Hanging on too long usually isn’t very pretty.

True, but if he isn’t playing he could at least be part of Ciara’s road crew and support staff.
It also isn’t like he doesn’t already have some coin.

He could also do card shows, sign autographed bottles of recovery water, that sort of stuff.
 
I don't know that there's ever been anyone in history that has fallen so quickly off a cliff as Russ. Good riddance....goodbye

Peyton Manning fell hard off a cliff, too. Yet he still somehow threw ducks all the way to a Super Bowl ring doing it. His style and football IQ definitely allowed for him to regress and still move an offense. Russ has neither those skills nor that kind of football IQ.

He was definitely there for it and played his part. But there's several in front of him who were more instrumental in those two runs. He played well enough those two years, then actually had a streak of a few very good years when the team got used to his brand of "backyard football." As soon as he lost a step, that was it. I was very, very ready for the team to move on from him by 2020/2021. Was happy they finally did before the wheels totally came off.

Grateful for the Super Bowl runs and the good years, but he fell off hard, and got way too big of a head. Seemed more interested in being a celebrity than teammate by the time he got to Denver. That's really when a lot of fans soured on him.
