Dude, it just seems sort of unreal, cursed even.
Just gotta wonder what's up down there, who did they piss off.

Chiefs won (they play between the whistles/everybody gotta eat)

Go Chiefs!!

Wow, missed the brawl between Detroit and KC. #5 caught a haymaker alongside of his helmet, then it was a free for all. I guess you can take the man out of the ghetto but cannot take the ghetto out of the man. Apologies to any Detroit fans I may have offended, it only took one guy to start the brawl. Nature called before the brawl and took priority.

I just learned that the reason (IMO) that the past few Super Bowl Halftime Shows have sucked so badly is that Jay Z runs the talent selection process through his company Roc Nation and has an exclusive contract with the NFL since 2019.

I'd just like to see some rock & roll or good country...anything instead of rap/hip-hop/pop. Looks like the show will be screwed for the forseeable future.

How about Jelly Roll?

My kids have loved the selections the last few years.

Musical taste is subjective. The Bad Bunny dude is objectively extremely popular. It's hard to logically say many other artists would appeal to more people or get more people to tune in.

Half time shows are for bringing in eyes that would otherwise not watch the super bowl.

I'm not the target audience and that's fine. No matter who they choose, some group is going to dislike it. Thankfully, it gives me a good amount of time to do other things before the second half.

I'll echo this. There's literally no way to choose a halftime act that everyone will like. Best they can do is to pick an extremely popular performer and deal with the fact that some folks won't click with the genre/style. The NFL knows the demographics they are aiming for (or, more likely, the demographics that SB ad buyers want) and the choices are going to reflect that. As Evan points out, the point of the halftime show isn't to entertain the NFL fans who would already be watching, it's to get people who don't normally care about a sporting event to tune in.

As Charles says, musical taste is subjective. Some folks hate hip hop, some folks hate country, some folks hate yacht rock, etc. No way around that, really.

Also, it's a halftime show. Who cares? Time to take a wizz and make a snack.

That all makes perfect sense. My point is that there hasn't been any variety for the past few years. It's all been the same genre. Wouldnt hurt to switch it up a little from time to time.
