The prospect of a new franchise quarterback in the future gets me excited. I was never in on Geno, and DK has soured his welcome
probably the same thing he thinks about when both Pete and Sean Payton moved off him. That really should tell you something when two of the better coaches move off....can't wait until Tomlin does the same.Wonder what Russ thinks...
Pete would rather trade a 3rd round pick for Geno, than sign him as a free agent...
Seahawks going after Darnold it seems. Not super surprising. I even said during last season he seemed like a very likely candidate for if and when Geno goes elsewhere. Given the QB draft classes coming up are not great, i don't hate it.
Geno wants $45 million per year but we could probably get Darnold for $30-35 million. He's also younger, has shown potential for a breakout and now we have an extra pick this year and have a TON of cap space next year. I think we'll be alright long term.

Man...I did not see that coming...an upgrade, but not by much. Most likely a short term situation while waiting for a better class of qb's in the draft
I'm just glad we got Geno over Russ (I think)...
Pete knows them both as well as anybody does...
