Stafford is entering the Kirk Cousins era of his career, asking for a lot more than he's worth, and likely to get it.
Raiders shoukd just take Jeanty, as the running game will be an immediate impact for them.
Raiders can get a Wilson, Rodgers or Flacco type for a song compared to a Cousins/Stafford type...
and they will still need to have a running game even with a big bucks over the hill washed up injury prone backside of career guy like Stafford...
😁
that basically described all of the other qb's you mentioned...

The actual story behind the Stafford headlines is much less exciting than some here seem to believe. The LA RAMS are giving Stafford and his agent the courtesy of exploring his value with other franchises who may or may not be interested in giving him a big contract late in his career. Stafford learns more about his actual value on the market while the LA RAMS learn more about his trade compensation. I doubt the LA RAMS trade him unless the draft compensation is very large, like a #1 pick with some lower round picks tossed in the mix. The other franchise would also need to eat his contract number. After the Russell Wilson and DeShaun Watson fiascos, this type of QB deal is unlikely. By the March 30th league meeting the LA RAMS will have plenty of information on how to proceed with Stafford's contract revision. In the end the LA RAMS will bump up Stafford's salary with some more guaranteed money and performance incentives in 2025 and maybe 2026 (but not beyond).

True...
But if you go for one of those types, wouldn't you want to get cheap one ?

Arron Rodgers landed in a better situation and probably and an ounce or two more desire to win than another talented qb but both both lacked something desirable in your qb…. The it! The personable/relatable characteristics that uplifts the team…..Jeff George being the other. What a great arm he had, but that was all for the most part.…... Just MHO.

Now Jamarcus Russell just didnt care. They sent him blank video on an opponents D and blitz package. Then they asked him what he thought next day. …..Evidently he liked the plan to defend against their upcoming opponents’ blitz and all after watching blank empty video/film.

😢

Sounds like Stafford is staying put, but wow...Giants rumored to have offered a 2 year deal with 90 mil guaranteed is a bold move by them...
🥳

Stat o' the day....

:)

Once again, the LA RAMS will have the best quarterback in the NFC WEST. No surprise here. All the RAMS needed to do was update his remaining 2 year contract with more guaranteed money for 2025 and 2026 seasons. Nice to get this deal signed before the 9ers reset the quarterback market with a record smashing contract for Brock Purdy. This fast resolution will also add pressure on the c-hawks to pay Gino more than they would like. On to the draft now.

And they all have one thing in common. No Superbowl in their immediate future.

😁

c-hawk media not happy about Stafford resigning:

This is ultimately unfortunate for the Seattle Seahawks, who have been thwarted by Stafford far too often in recent years. Ever since he became LA's starting quarterback in 2021, Stafford is a perfect 5-0 against Seattle when he plays.

LA RAMS also signed their left tackle Alaric Jackson to a new 3 year contract!

I will say, they worked the numbers and came out better than most teams with limited cap space and draft positions.

Bravo to the Rams.

Addition by subtraction. He would have been the 4th best WR for the Niners this year. They have had some good success in the 5th round, better than the 3rd.

The 9ers now have a league leading $66,000,000 dead money salary cap hit. Trading Deebo yesterday triggered $31,000,000 in dead cap money. Once Brock Purdy is signed to a big contract their salary cap situation will be tight.
