Rumors about teams trading away their franchise QBs are just click bait. If a lousy team wants to improve they should draft for a running attack and defense, sign an average QB.

Dangeruss?
The New York Giants are emerging as an option for Russell Wilson despite the veteran insisting his focus is solely on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wilson was part of an intriguing subplot in 2024 as he jostled with Justin Fields for the Steelers starting role. After a training camp competition, the Steelers named Wilson the starter ahead of the regular season only for the veteran to aggravate a calf injury leading up to Week 1.

Needless to say…I’m nervous the Raiders may be going after one of these names. Rodgers would be out, as I don’t see him signing with a team that has a low playoff probability…obviously that is not a concern of Wilson since he previously signed with the Broncos (which has me worried, and Pete Carroll’s possible choice)…I was hoping that Sam Darnold might make sense for the short term until a good qb becomes available in the draft (I don’t see Ward or Sanders still being available at the 6th pick), but the Vikings may be placing the franchise tag on him since McCarthy’s repaired knee rehab may not be going as hoped. Since both Cleveland and the Giants will be taking qb’s before the Raiders pick, I don’t see them taking Jaxson Dart in the first round…and I doubt we will trade for the first pick with the Titans

Niners need to sell off a 10% stake in the franchise to raise cash for the coming massive Brock Purdy contract.

The per-team salary cap for 2025 will be raised to between $277.5 million and $281.5 million NFL announced today.
Did you read the article? Seems like its sound business...

NFL owners voted last year to allow private equity investment of up to 10% of a franchise. The Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills have already struck deals with investment firms, and the Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders have used the increased interest from private equity to generate higher prices from other individuals and families.

Getting into bed with private equity is just a way for financially strapped owners to get some quick cash out of their NFL franchise. Some NFL owners don't have many assets outside of the team they own. Strong owners keep 100%.

I’m not a Cowboy fan but I always liked this guy as a player. Only seven holding penalties in a 11 year career. That pretty amazing.

Apparently some of the LA faithful are a little nervous about a potential crazy move:

Go for it 😆 😃 😆
likely 50M - 60M a year for three years or out of there to a team who will
Rodgers = goodbye team harmony, hello drama

I have a love/hate relationship with Stafford, going back to the 2008 Sugar Bowl where he put a shellacking on my undefeated Hawaii Warriors in New Orleans...I was at the game. Always thought he was a very good qb languishing on bad Lions teams, if he becomes available I would think the Raiders would consider him for two years and would change their draft pick strategy...instead of trading up to get Ward or Sanders, might pick a WR or trade down to get Jeanty at RB ...

Stafford is entering the Kirk Cousins era of his career, asking for a lot more than he's worth, and likely to get it.
Raiders shoukd just take Jeanty, as the running game will be an immediate impact for them.
Raiders can get a Wilson, Rodgers or Flacco type for a song compared to a Cousins/Stafford type...
and they will still need to have a running game even with a big bucks over the hill washed up injury prone backside of career guy like Stafford...
😁

Despite his age Stafford remains one of the most accurate QB's in the league, he'd be an upgrade for at least 20 teams, so without a heir apparent be surprised if the Rams let him walk. As a Niners fan, however, we'd be more than pleased if the Rams decided to let him walk and go with Garoppolo as their starter...lol
