NFR Superb Owl 2026: Seahawks vs Patriots (official thread)

Non-fishing related
I am an extremely casual football watcher trying to get more into it. I do think I would've appreciated this game more if I had a deeper understanding of defense
I'm a pretty casual fan myself. Having kids and grandkids who play soccer helps develop the understanding that the game is played on both sides of the ball. There is important shit going on the entire time.

The only way it was boring, is the fact that the game was never really in doubt after the first quarter. Patriots had shit for offense, and got over half their total yards in essentially 4th quarter garbage time, while the good guys just were like ' yeah whatever, you're not winning so get your underneath shit'...

I was never worried, Patriots looked like a beaten team on offense the whole second half, but props to their D, especially Gonzalez.
Dude is a hell of player for sure.

Gonzalez was the only person keeping them in the game!

When a defensive front 4 controls the line, puts pressure on the QB with some tackles along the way and puts so much pressure on him, he just throws it away you know the other team is in deep doodoo. The Seahawks did that almost the entire game! I watched the front line trying to guess who was going to make the next great play. I was wrong almost the entire game. Boring? Heck NO!.

The Patriots defensive back field was amazing. Aggressive, kept passing windows tight or non-existent and took away a few catches too.

I actually did a search 'has a team ever won the SB without a TD? during the game.

Great win by the Seahawks!

Edited to add: this is the first SB I watched since SB VIII sober. I will remember a lot more of it too.

When the Seahawks are in it next year, I will watch it sober also...

I wanna a good clean, hard fought, game.

I wanna game where the refs are not the focus of game.

I wanna game where there are no injuries.

Most of all I wanna game where the Patriots find out and see and feel what a great defense does.

Go Seahawks!!!

This game checked all my "wanna's " above. Amazing!

ZERO turnovers in the postseason. Only team to ever do it. Love the pic. Love where it was at. Let's do it again next year in SoFi!

You know what the haters can do. :ROFLMAO:

I hope the Seahawks sign Walker for the few years. He had proven what he can do...

If you're not goin MEAT during a game like that then you need to BUCK UP!!!! game like that calls for atleast one if not two MEAT MAINS!!!!!!!! You need to BUCK UP and underSTAND the deal. The deal is that you need to BUCK UP and put down at LEAST two or three MEAT MAINS during the game!!!!

He was in that 2018 Draft class. Picked 10th.

True, but he isn’t even playing any longer. The other three are of course. Maybe he’ll win one next year…..😉😂

40 % of the Patriots offensive plays went for no gain, or a loss....

3. 2025 Seattle Seahawks (17-3, 46.4%)

This placement for the 2025 Seahawks team will certainly shock most fans, as there was never the public sentiment that the Seahawks were one of the best teams in NFL history. But they were according to DVOA. In fact, both the Seahawks and the division-rival Rams finished the regular season among the top 10 teams since 1978. Seattle finished with a historically strong defense (12th since 1978) and special teams (24th since 1978) to go with an above-average offense. It also played the eighth-toughest schedule in the league by DVOA, and its three losses came by a combined nine points.

Seattle's 41-6 victory over the No. 6-seed 49ers in the divisional round was the strongest single game of the season played by any team. Then came a 31-27 NFC championship win over the No. 5-seed Rams. Finally, the Seahawks dispatched the Patriots 29-13 to win Super Bowl LX and claim their second title.

There's a big DVOA gap between the 2025 Seahawks and our top two teams. Only one non-Super Bowl champion would fall into this space, the 2007 Patriots at 50.8%. The last two teams are clearly the top teams of the Super Bowl era, and each has its own good arguments for why it should be No. 1.

Rooting for whichever team wins 😝

Was rooting for the Seahawks all the way :p

Seriously, congrats to the Hawks and all their fans, great win. If can keep this team, especially the defense together, they will be formidable for a while.

Go Chiefs (2026 edition)
