Sunny Day Doldrums

58 on the bobber today....10”-13” nothing big but fun action!
Awesome, so much fun his time of year. Those are the kind of numbers I've seen this week, plus a few jumbos, some holdovers and the occasional crappie or redear. I've gone to the sinking line in the hot, sunny, calm weather. Mike's done well with the bobber the two days we fished together, but I'm doing better getting my flies moving. Certainly not dull.

The last two outings, including yesterday, have been slow fishing. Yesterday I could tell at the ramp it was going to be a challenge. Calm water without any signs. No swallows flying, no bugs. Got my only bump of the day trolling over to my chosen spot, using a guppy. Tried indicator with several choices. Count down leeches. Nada. Ended up smelling the skunk. Do you all find sunny days more of a challenge.? Care to share any thoughts.?
Lake sessions less about the sun and more about wind, much preferring 5 to 10 mph to having none., as the glassiest days always prove to be the slowest fishing days.

Not sunny today....same lake....18 today on the bobber. Not complaining, still great to be out! I fished a gasp!! Graphite rod for awhile today, 8’ one weight, made those stockers more fun!
