Fished a small lake near Mount Adams at around 4,100 feet in elevation. This lake has a great view of Mount Adams:

I only landed 7 fish, but surprisingly had 3 varieties of trout; 5 browns in the 8 to 18 inch range, one 13 inch Westslope cutthroat and one 10 inch Tiger trout. Here's a photo of the nicest looking brown (a 16 incher), and the other two varieties:

Also got to see a new wildflower called a pipsissema:

Surprisingly, the mosquitoes weren't too bad; didn't use any bug juice and only had two bites.

Even though the fishing was tough, I enjoyed the outing due to the perfect weather, lack of mosquitoes, great views of Mount Adams, catching three varieties of trout, and meeting some nice people.

Wonderful lake, even if the fishing isn’t. I have never got a Tiger there, that one looks very healthy. Nice fish and well done on a trifecta, thank you for sharing!

Beautiful lake. I caught Tigers and Browns there earlier this year, but no Cutthroat. Mosquitos were thick in June.

I think the dry weather has inhibited mosquito reproduction, as the mosquitoes weren't too bad on this outing. I didn't use any insect repellent and only got bitten twice. My wife and I also didn't encounter many mosquitoes at Sunrise last week.
