Now I do this update since a lot of people had asked how i was doing. So started doing it this way. If you get tired of them let me know. I only put them on with big things happen, at least to me, so post then.

I had 2 appointments in the last 2 days. Both were great info.

At the doctor, I'm totally done with all the 3 therapists, only seeing my Psych DR i was seeing weekly. After seeing him I only have to see him once a month now. My brain is in a good way. He could even see how well I am talking with him. I give him more good and things I want to do rather all the bads and what I've missed due to the stroke. I told him I do enjoy having the talk with him and would like to see him until I finally tells me I don't need to come anymore. And yes, this isn't a life time thing I need to do.

The next was today. I had to see my see my blood tests (anticoagulation therapist). I have to see them the rest of my life. Will stop me of having another stroke. I finally hit that I'm on once a month appointments. When I started i was seeing them twice a week in November. Now I'm up to my only once a month, which makes me excited. 2 appointments a month versus my 4 to 8 appointments a week is wonderful.

So that's what I have for now. I may not have any after this unless it's something amazing.

It is amazing how much your written communication has improved over the time that you have been sending these updates! I'm looking forward to seeing you in May at the swap n meet!

Thanks for sharing your update Jerry! Hope you can make it! You know we'll all have your back!

I'm hoping I'll be able to go. I'll have to play it, if i make it, to pull away from everyone if my brain overloads it. I'll let people know.
We'll respect your need for space and if you can't go out or don't feel up to cooking, will pick up the slack on food.

The cooking is easy still. I just focus on it and it just happens. It's talking is the hard part. Especially more than one person at a time. I'm working on that one, just takes a bit for my brain to separate people. So when too many talk to me, or around me, at once my brain gets an instant heavy headache. Again I'm working with that. But to give you an idea, I can't have TV playing at same time talking to someone at same time.

No worries though. I'll just tell everyone who's there that if I need to get quiet it's not them. It's me needing to restart my head to talk to people. You'll see it starting if I close my eyes and drop my head. If I don't come up out of that I'll have to walk over to my truck for a bit.

My buddy has the same issue. My wife and I are lucky to have him and his wife and another couple that we do lots with. Life-long friends. Just one night out and then back at the house catching up and he's out of commission for a couple days. However, he can do a week long vacation with us if he has a room he can retreat to. We had him in Mazatlan for a week last month and he did great! Hang in there!

I also noticed the communication improvement. Little does he know he is writing a diary that he can go back to someday and appreciate the improvements that have been made.

Keep the status update posts coming!

Jerry,
It sounds like you are progressing remarkably well, that's very good to hear!
As far as the monthly blood letting goes once you get in the routine and become very aware of your diet it gets better. I just switched over to Xarelto at the beginning of the year and find it much easier (no monthly checking your viscosity).
Keep up the good work on the road to recovery!

Yeah I've really been watching what I'm eating. I would've been on my monthly level a couple years back. But they put me on pills when I had flu in December. Switched me back to twice a week and finally put me into second "once a month"..

Funny, I'm going on a trip to see my oldest friend who lives in Cabo. Will be going to see her in November and doing the trip as cheap as possible. Hoping to be ok doing it. Been doing small get togethers to work on my brain. Will see how things go with Swap & Shop to see too. Luckily I won't be going to party in Cabo. Hanging with my friend, having some drink, and enjoying the sun on the beach. I do plan on seeing the Cabo Wabo. That'll be my biggest thing to try.
