Streamlining my boat options - NRS Slipstream 96??

I’m not trailering mine, deflated and disassembling the frame in my truck bed, eager to find out how much I’ll enjoy that each time I use it.

I haven’t. Still in the original packaging still.

If you're asking for the Striker, this is what I have and really like them. Definite upgrade from stock oars-
Cataract KBO 2-piece Oar Shaft 7.5' with Wrap
Cataract Mini Cutthroat Oar Blades
Also went with NRS mini aluminum oar locks and then carry the stock ones as spares. Much better.

I have meant to ask you this for a while and keep forgetting. I tried using my NRS mini aluminum oar locks after reading this as I’m not a big fan of the striker’s oar locks, but the shafts on the NRS oar locks don’t fit into the plastic bushings. If I don’t use the bushings, there is a lot of play. Did you find something else to use as a bushing or are you simply using them plain and the play doesn’t bother you?

Ah, yep. Yes, the play is annoying! That was not going to work for me.
Back in my bird hunting days I reloaded my own shotgun shells so I have a bunch of old Winchester AA shells. I cut a couple shells with some snips to make my own bushings. A few years in and they're still working well. Shotgun shell material is very tough so it will probably last another few years and then I'll just make more. The Winchester AAs are also smooth versus shells like Federal that have the ridges or ribs.

Here it is pulled out just a bit so you can see it a bit better-


If you don't have shotgun shell empties laying around I'm sure there is some similar material out there. Thin, smooth, tough plastic that can be cut and then just rolled in there. I use 2 thick plastic washers between the ring clip and the bottom of the locks instead of springs. The bushing seems to stay put with no issues.
