It took a week, but just found the owner of the "kayak equipment" posted above! Had to be vague in the original posting given the value of said equipment (Hobie Mirage drive, see below). Kudos to Kevin at Outdoor Emporium and @Pixster from NWKA for helping spread the word and connecting me with the now very happy Hobie kayaker!
