Maybe it’s a function of me being a new customer? Maybe it’s a different-state thing? I dunno, the bafflingly byzantine bureaucracy of insurance is beyond me. But I do know I’ve now got (checks insurance list) 21 rods and reels covered, and only about half were bought new. They also covered my canoe and kayaks at more than they cost me in materials, though that did take some back and forth.
The way covering the used stuff was explained to me by the agent was that they cover used cars and houses all the time—they didn’t see rods and reels any differently.
