stoked to get back out here...water temp was 42 in the main lake and 44 back in the bay. fun frigid paddle...won't be long though, although it's normally up closer to 50 by now.

This was a hastily set up, extremely buggy, free dirtbag campsite somewhere on the Big Hole from a ways back.
This was the same trip we camped at Melrose, packed everything up and left in the morning to launch at Divide, made it to the exit for Hwy 43 and I then realized that we had left all our rods strung up in the bushes back at our campsite. Turn around, get back there and the camp looked exactly the same, dudes still sipping coffee and whatever, 7 rods exactly as we had left them. Phew. Later launch than we had planned that day but it didn't matter.

Just got back from a quick non fishing road trip to California. The Smith River is the only undammed river in the state, and still beautiful to look at even on a rainy and windy day. Some day I’d like to go back and fish it.
