St. Croix fly rods are back

The first time i broke a St Croix rod I asked Mark at the shop about it. He gave me the address and instruction of what info to provide. Warranty policy was better than any I have dealt with. Later on in my dealings I was offered upgrade options for a rather nominal charge which I decided to go with on my last one. But then that was before our current mega inflation and opportunism run amuck.

If their fly rods are anything like their gear rods, people will be impressed.

I have had imperials, legend elites and a bank robber as well As Freshwater baitcast and spinning.(My wife works in a dealership.) I like ‘em and think they are high quality esp for the price. The legend elite and bank robber were stiff with a soft rod tip which is not my number 1 preference but is for a lot of people.

That's still the current warranty for their gear rods, so hopefully they do the same for fly rods

I dealt with St Croix on a warranty within the last 6 months, and other than the replacement taking a lot longer to ship than normal because they were out of stock, and a limited lineup to choose from (my rod was an Avid, but replacement was an Imperial) they were as good as ever to work with.

Some of the worst rods I have ever tried, when I was in the industry the rep came to the shop. The boss and I both agreed they were absolute garbage, the entire line up sucked.
The next day the Ross rep came by with the new Ross worldwide rods, they were a 1000x better, super afordable and well designed.
Hopefully they have found someone that knows how to design a rod.

I've owned both. I agree the Ross Worldwide was a fine rod and I wish I hadn't given it away, but I'm a fan of St. Croix rods. They're a little on the heavy side in the hand - which doesn't bother me at all - but they're well made and pretty to look at. Hey! Pretty counts, doesn't it.

You Midwest guys: this is the Pacific Northwest, where Sage and Loomis rods are headquartered. Just sayin'.

In complete agreement
