Took my Eddie Bauer 8'6" 7 weight bamboo rod to a Mason County lake today. Grey skies, wind and cold water but some active fish. There were some surprisingly big gulpers sipping small olive chironomids. I caught all my fish on an intermediate line or full sinking line and a size 8 black wooly bugger. Kept a well-conditioned fish for dinner. It was full of very small olive chironomids.
