'Sploring Thin Blue Lines in the Poconos

Canuck from Kansas

Aimlessly wondering through life

Finally took a bit of a break from work and fixing up the new home. Bought my license on line last night, then this morning loaded the pups and the gear into the truck and headed to a thin blue line about 10 minutes from home:

Some nice little falls

Maggie, looking over nervously

Coco, not so nervous:

First Poconos fish - not a trouts:

Hooked a few smaller guys, I think trouts, but all popped off.

It was good to get out, first time since leaving Bend almost 2.5 years ago.

Cheers

Do tell why you left Bend for New Bern...It'd take quite a bit to move me from the Pacific Northwest to North Carolina.

Has it really been that long? Seems like just yesterday we were visiting the lady M.

Glad to see that you’re getting out. Thought maybe you decided being in a witness protection style program in the NE was going to be your new life style. 🥸

Also eagerly awaiting the early morning / late night New & Improved Canuck Observatory reports as cooler weather starts to roll in.

Big problem for the Observatory, we are in the forest and have very little open sky - still searching for a good open, dark-sky sight, not too far away for the mobile observatory.

Seems like longer to me, I do miss those. Felt like a beginner yesterday, fumbling around, trying to tie on the dry dropper setup, but it was great being out. Looking forward to my first native Brookie here; a 12 inch Brookie is a trophy, far cry from former haunts around Bend, but will still be a lot of fun on 3 wt cane.
