The first half of October was pretty good! Turn your phones sideways, or tilt your head if you're on a real computer.
Fishing-wise the coho fishing was spectacular. From the rowboat all I could see were a couple jumpers here and there, but when I watched the drone footage it turned out there were hundreds of staging fish. Mostly they were ignoring my presentations, but thankfully there always seemed to be one fish that was willing to play. Sometimes they wanted big flashy things ripped around at high speeds and sometimes they wanted tiny stuff fished slow. The challenge was finding the effective technique/fly/colour, which seemed to change by the hour/day.
And then there was the wildlife: We had a couple of great killer whale encounters including the T19s (hadn't seen them in over 20 years) and the T117Bs and T30Bs (never seen either of those groups before), plus humpbacks, harbour porpoise, northern sea lions, harbour seals, and so many great seabirds. We saw a few river otters being river otters, and capped the trip with the same stunning northern lights show that everyone else saw.
