Hit a lake today in search of bass. Lots of vacation days to kill this year, so decided a Friday before Memorial Day was a great day to burn some hours.
Fishing was ehh. Landed a dozen or so. Mixed bag. 9-10 smallies and a few largemouth. Not a ton of size. 2025 has not been great on the bass front but I’m catching fish which is all that really matters.
Short term I’m heading out to New England soon to see family and fish some great Northeast moving water. Trout, dries…fun. Long term, well today may be my last bass trip of 2025. By the time I fish WA again, salmon will probably be the primary target….or maybe not. Biggest smallie of 2025 was ~3 lbs. I can do better!
