High lake season officially began for me today. Walked my Sharpes 85 5/6 weight bamboo rod two miles into a clear lake at 3550 feet. This lake has some amazing sand beaches although we found the surprisingly well fed brookies over weedbeds and downed timber.

This is a big mountain lake with amazing scenery. My friend is in his wilderness lite.

Best fles for me were a size 12 Black Pennell and a size 12 Greenwells Glory fished off an intermediate line. My friend did well with a Black Zulu and a Black Pennell off an intermediate line. The classic british wets work for high lakes fish!
