Off to a late start, are we? My season began today with a slippery drive over the pass to brighter skies and some excellent snow on the old RR grade. It was still wet and chunky in the woods, but overall a fine day out!

Photo I took of my buddy and a photo he took of me yesterday.

Today was also stupid fun. Get it while you can before the warmup hits again at the end of the weekend. Bust/boom/bust/boom/bust has been the story of this winter.

Got a call early early that my moms brother has now passed as well. He and dad taught us boys how to ski. Fitting weather, new snow, some sun, and a bit of gloom. Taught class, then out to start a four day bender.1000004407.jpg
No clue who skied through

Three days at White Pass this week. Tuesday and Wednesday were windy with heavy snow fall. Today was the first day in the week that the Couloir lift to the top of the mountain was open with spectacular views of Rainier. I’m in the red parka and need to stand in front of my taller friend next time. At my age, three days in a week is a ski bender. IMG_9178.jpegIMG_5450.jpeg

Is it just at Bluewood, or do snowboarders everywhere spend a lot of time sitting down? Been gorgeous the last couple days, beutiful sunshine with sping like conditions. Like to see it get nasty and dump though.

Got 4hr with 13,000' of vertical in after work this morning. Fitness is really coming around. Runs are a bit thin and stained in the middle. Doesn't look like we'll get much snow from this system either.:(

It was actually really good today, spring like. Just kept going and didn't get off the mountain in time to fish. Gettin' thinner. Not sure about snow in the next week either. Got 10 days in already, which is what I got all last winter. Legs feel great, getting back on the bike in August has paid off.

Got in one more day. Heard they will close tomorrow. I found places to ski today but there was a lot of dirt on the greens and blues. Forecast is rain for two days then snow again. We'll see. Got 12 fine days in so far, but this is April weather, not early February.

It's been dire up at Baker and the road's been closed for the last week for repairs. Here's hoping there's a turnaround after this weekend. Forecasts look promising but we're starting from near scratch at this point.

As bad as the snow situation has been, the folks at White Pass have been doing an awesome job of keeping enough terrain covered so we can have some fun. Was there yesterday wearing a tshirt under my shell. Will be there tomorrow. Pray for snow, do a snow dance… whatever. We need snow for so many reasons. The precipitation in the forecast could go either way, I hope some cold blows in from the north.
