Very good & easy tie emerger pattern. I use size 18-14 (22 if you dare!) I tie in purple for "dark" flies like Hendrickson and in tan for lights like Cahill, or Vitreous, but have seen some ties in red too.

Hood-Scud size 18-22 (your choice of vendor)
Thread-Purple
Wire=Small/xmall silver
Wing-CDC Puff Med Dun (if you tie larger than 14 you may want to use full CDC
Thorax-standard Peacock Hurl

I love cdc for trout, I even use it on some wet (possie bugger with an cdc collar under the partridge-deadly), and sculpin patterns.

Good pattern. I've used in #20 with great success for midge hatches on the Bighorn, but they're hard to keep floating.
