Sling pack net holder

When vests are mentioned the first thing that pops into my mind is hot and not far behind is soaking wet on a rainy day.
These days I mostly fish in waist high waders, at 73 I don't really have any business wading deeper and the waist highs keep me from clouding my rationality, :) and wear a fanny pack which easily swings to my side when I need access.
This was one of those super hot afternoons back in my "buffer" days that I was wishing I wasn't wearing a vest...and gawd I sure hope those neoprenes don't come back in style.:ROFLMAO:

I’d like to give the broder net clip a try when they go to market. I too haven’t found a great solution with a longer handled fishpond net and a pack, sling, or waist pack.

BTW, the net handle sticks way up above the belt in the GIF. With a sling pack that must go over the right shoulder, and you want the net on the left (cast right, reel & net left), the net will interfere with and possibly be dislodged from the clip when slinging the pack to the front.

I have the same sling pack, I purchased it for a trip to MT last summer. I quickly realized the the pack was pretty comfortable and was kind of nice to just rotate while in the river and have everything in front of you. Then the nightmare of juggling rod, net, and the pack. We quickly made it my wife's job to carry the net, and I handled the rods and pack.

I like your solution to the problem and may have to dig my pack out of the corner of the shop and take a look.

Thanks

Responding to me?
Which pack?
BTW, I primarily fish fixed line rods; Tenkara and Keiryu, in freshwater and wear wader gators whether I'm wearing waders or wet wading. There is no reel on the rod so when I have to re-rig or get something out ouf the pack, I can easily stick the rod handle underneath the wader gaitor near the top to use as a 3rd hand and it's held securely. The net is on a strong retractor and hangs below the pack when it's in front so I don't need to be too concerned about it. I've even put a velcro loops strip around the MOLLE webbing on the side of my tactical sling and a hooks patch on my fly boxes so the box stays put while rigging.

When fishing saltwater beaches I put the rod in the stripping basket slots and am able to sling my Patagonia sling pack around.

I try to make my kit as ergonomic as possible to help minimize gear management hassles and keep my mind on fishing and enjoyment of the awesome beauty that I'm in where wild trout thrive.

Thanks for the reply, however my reply was directed towards the original poster.

I love my sling packs. I have used the Patagonia stealth for years but was just gifted the orvis fishewear pack. I carry my net on my wader belt using a carabiner and the magnets. Super simple and easy to use. Doesn’t get in the way of my pack when moving it around for access.

My sainted father's homemade net. Biner to D ring on back of vest, green 7-lb magnet, unnecessary brass clip thingy, 6 foot coiled dammit! leash. If I used it I would replace the cuphook with an eye screw, attach the magnet directly to it, and lose the big brass hook.

Thanks for posting that, looks interesting I might give it a try.

I used to wear a small sling but has transitioned to a chest pack. Short handle net is hung in the back hoop up by magnet and there's a lanyard from the handle to the side of my chest pack. Weight is distributed evenly all around, very comfy but I must admit the front pack does get annoying sometimes fishing the beach with a basket.
